How to make Curry

08 septiembre 2012

This is the first time bringing you a recipe! for those people that didnt know... I LOVE COOKING! and i love to learn new recipes too

Today i'm going to share with you this awesome recipe, im talking about "Curry" (japanese), its really easy and delicious!

 Let's start!
(Receta para dos persona // Recipe for 2)
Ingredientes // Ingredients:
  • 1 Papa // 1 Potato
  • 1 o 2 Zanahorias grandes // 1 or 2 large Carrots
  • Cebolla // Onion
  • Caja de Curry // pack of Curry
  • Carne, puede ser de Cerdo, Res o Pollo (en mi caso use pechuga de pollo) // Meat, you can use Pork, Beef or Chicken ( i used chicken breast)
  • Agua // Water
  • Pimienta // Pepper
  • Sal // Salt
  •  Arroz // Rice
Nota // Note:
Puedes agregarle mas vegetales a tu gusto // You can add more vegetables if you want

Rice: if you have a rice cooker its really easy to do.  If you don't have a rice cooker, then you can do it the old way,  first of all clean and wash very well the rice until the water does not look white. Then in a saucepan add water boil up, when the water is boiling add the rice,  cover the saucepan and keep it in medium heat, util the rice is ready you can begin doing the part with the vegetables.
Do not forget that while you do all the other things, check the rice until is done.

First of all, start peeling the potato, do not forget that after peeling, you should wash it very well and the same for the other vegetables.

Time to cut! cut the potato in squares/ rectangulars, then the carrots and onion, try to cut the onion in big pieces.

Here is how i cut the onion. Next step add  all the vegatables in a recipient.

I used chicken breast and what i did was cut from the middle to make two pieces, i only used one. Then cut that piece in squares. Try not to cut them too small or too big. Like in the photo.

Now in a pan add 1 and 1/2 cup of water, let it boil a bit. Then add the chicken you cut, use salt and pepper (I use garlic salt). Leave it on medium heat.

After 10 minutes have passed, add all the vegetables. Do not forget to put the lid on pan to cover it, so that the vegetables will cook better.

Now we go to the main ingredient, curry condiment, this box has a kind of large tablet with 5 pieces that you can cut, this time only use 2 and if you like you can add 3.

Once you see that is already thoroughly cooked the  potatoes and carrots, you can add the 2 or 3 pieces of curry and then begin to stir until the curry pieces is completely dissolved.

And presto! curry is ready ! You can add the rice on the side or bottom of curry
